ONLINE: Talk/Tour on The World Underneath St. Louis
PTSL Online “Talk/Tour: The World Underneath St. Louis” on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 7:00 PM.
St. Louis sits on top of limestone, so there are a lot of empty spaces underneath the city. We have used those spaces: a restaurant, theaters, taverns, a building from Syria. Running under our city are natural caves and man-made tunnels that carry light rail, pneumatic tubes, live steam, a railroad, and stinky sulfur water. And don’t forget the hardtack biscuits and cannisters of drinking water in case we get attacked by nuclear bombs. Doug Schneider will lead an armchair tour of the world that lies beneath us.
RSVP is not required for PTSL members. Non-members will need to RSVP by Monday, January 25 (Accepts only) by clicking on this link: ptsl@primetimersstl.org (or send an email to this address). All members and guests will later receive an email with connection instructions for the gathering.
