Yes, a hospital in St. Louis with 10,000 patients spread out over 7 states. It is the first (and the largest) telehospital in the United States.
MERCY VIRTUAL is a center for developing and delivering telehealth. Telehealth is delivered to patients in various hospitals and to patients in their homes. The goal is to diagnose and intervene earlier: saving lives and saving health care costs.
EXAMPLES:
Being a “patient sitter” with 24/7 observation of agitated hospital patients.
Providing critical access to pediatric expertise to children in rural areas.
Detecting sepsis in hospital patients.
Interacting with critically-ill patients in their home.
