“Contemporary language describing the LGBTQIA+ community is a relatively recent development, and it creates a challenge for historical research.  Steven Brawley will explore the roadblocks to researching LGBTQIA+ history and offer insights into uncovering lost histories.  A panel discussion by community leaders will add additional perspective.

We start with a optional 5:30 Dinner at the NEW Boathouse Restaurant in Forest Park (6101 Government Drive) with award-winning management and affordable food that’s sure to please: http://boathousestl.com/menu/.

After dinner we move on to the nearby Missouri History Museum for a fascinating FREE presentation on the ways historians are using new approaches to address the challenges of unearthing lost and hidden LGBT histories.

Location: Lee Auditorium in the Museum at 7:00 PM
